Awesome Air® Filter. What Is
It?
The Awesome
Air® Filter will reduce humidity and save Energy costs
Moisture contributes to an
increase in air pollutants and is an optimal breeding ground for mold. Humidity
levels above 55% are considered excessive and can promote growth of mold, dust
mites, and other harmful micro-organisms. This indoor air pollution has been
called “Sick Building Syndrome.” The syndrome causes headaches, fatigue,
difficulty concentrating, respiratory irritation and burning eyes. The U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency states that the generally recommended humidity
level for residential areas is 30%-50%, and that 50% of all illnesses are caused
by aggravated indoor pollution. Commonly, our environments can range from
60-80% humidity – a highly favorable environment for mold and bacteria growth.
The Awesome Air® Filter helps maintain an optimum indoor humidity level of
30%-50%, and removes airborne particles to reduce mold, bacteria, pollutants,
and allergens from indoor air.

Energy savings are also achieved by using the Awesome Air®
Filter. Air conditioning systems (especially high efficiency ones) cycle on and
off so quickly that little moisture is removed from the air. By adding a a
desiccant filter system, dry air is being fed into the system. When the humidity
level is reduced, the air becomes drier and cooler.
Since the air feels cooler, the thermostat setting can be
adjusted to achieve the same comfort level as before installation of the Awesome
Air® system. By raising your thermostat in the summer or lowering your
thermostat in the winter by just three degrees – you’ll cut your air
conditioning energy costs by 15-20% while maintaining the same comfort level.
According to TXU, a large
Texas utility company, for every
degree that your thermostat is raised in the summer or lowered in the winter,
you’ll reduce your air-conditioning energy costs by 7% while maintaining the
same comfort level. The National Renewable Energy Lab reports that desiccants
like the Awesome Air® Filter can achieve as much as 25% energy savings.
The easy-to-install, low-cost
filter contains 100% all-natural zeolite that improves the performance of air
conditioning systems. Zeolite is a mineral that acts as a desiccant (drying
agent), attracting and adsorbing moisture, odors, and gas molecules and trapping
them in its crystalline structure. The Awesome Air® Filter is non-toxic,
non-corrosive, non-flammable, stable, and non-irritating. Filters are available
for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Install one 10-pound
filter for every 2.5 tons of air conditioning, or one 20-pound filter for every
5 tons of air conditioning. The Awesome Air® filter is installed behind the
existing air conditioning dust air filter(s). The 10-pound filter dimensions are
5” x 12” x 3” and the 20-pound filter dimensions are 30” x 12” x 3”. The filters
should not exceed 60% of the air conditioning plenum return surface area. The
filters can be custom made to fit your space.

Equipment Life, Warranty, Other
If properly maintained,
Awesome Air® Filters will last over 10 years and have a 30-day money back
guarantee. In climates where there is winter heat, the filters are self- drying
and no maintenance is required. In climates with no winter heat, filters may be
reactivated or recharged every 18 to 24 months by placing them in the sun for
eight hours or in a 120 degree oven for two hours. They support American Society
of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRE) standard
62-99, “Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality.”
